 Business Overview
Los Santos Tungsten

Heemskirk Consolidated owns 100% of the Los Santos Project and associated exploration tenements.

The engineering scope of work is for a plant designed to treat 65 tonnes per hour of crushed ore feed, which, if operated seven days a week, would equate to an annual throughput of 400,000 tonnes.  The process flow sheet for Los Santos is very simple in design comprising standard communication, gravity and filtration stages and utilising known technologies common in the tungsten extraction industry. The project will produce a clean, marketable concentrate.  This is to be sold under a long term offtake agreement to a major world end user.

Drill Tungsten is a unique metal due to its high temperature properties and exceptional high density. It is most frequently used as tungsten carbide in cemented carbides because of the outstanding hardness.  Tungsten has a very widespread use as metal, in alloys, steels and as chemicals.

It has been one of the most important alloying constituents in tool steels and constructional steels and was added to enhance the properties of hardness, cutting efficiency and speed of tools.

Cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloys, frequently called stellite, are a group of wear resistant alloys which are used for bearings, valve seats and pistons, mill inliners, etc., i.e. applications where a tough wear resistant material is required.

Engine
The most well known application, albeit small from a consumption perspective, of the metal tungsten still is the double coiled filament used in incandescent lamps.  Tungsten metal has boosted artificial lighting at the beginning of the 20th century.

Tungsten and tungsten compounds can be used as catalysts in a large number of chemical reactions.  Tungsten chemicals derived from sodium or ammonium tungstate, tungsten oxides or tungstic acid have a widespread pallette of applications.
